A Picture is worth a thousand words

We just loved your photos from school! You have the best gym ever and a waterfall, too! You are so lucky to be in such a beautiful place. Are you near the rain forest? What exactly is "the Bush?"

Joe took these pictures around our school and Jamestown to share with you, and I've made a slideshow of them. I forgot to take the cat picture out - that is Mrs. Casey's cat Merl, the Wonder Cat. Click here to see other pictures of Jamestown. We put some comments to help explain a little about our town and customs.

This link explains a little bit about Jamestown - 9 miles long, 1 mile wide, full of love!
Jamestowners: here is a link that will tell us about Rotorua. Maybe our friends in Room 10 can give us more connections so we can learn more about you!

  7. Hi its Jessica...again,
Last week we got to go to camp. My fav part was when we got to go on the flying-fox. The flying- fox is something that goes down a big mountain! You get clipped on with a harness and you can get spun, bounced and blind-folded! Some of the first groups cold not get blind-folded because the man that done the flying-fox couldn't find the blind-fold. My other fav part was when we got to build huts out of stiks and ferns! It was really hard because we were going against the champions but we came in second place any-way.When we had done rock-climbing we went and had dinner. We had macaroni-cheese and it was all gone after dinner.Blog ya later!:}Hi its Jessica...again,

  9. Hi Carolyn,

Room 10 are enjoying communicating too. No I have never been to the States but my in laws are from Wyoming and Colorado, and my sister-in-law lived in New York for many years. They have all lived in NZ for a long time now though. I emailed Lisa to let her know that school finishes here in 3 weeks for our big Summer holidays and doesn't start til early February. When school starts back I will have a new class and will need a couple of weeks to get my blog back up and running with the new children on it. We will keep blogging over the next few weeks and will continue when we come back to school but you might want to let your children know. We are all looking forward to our holiday! Teachers and children!

  11. Hi this is Ashley and I am going to tell you about Rotorua. Rotorua is a lovely place where you can sleep and stay for the day. BUT it smells bad over in New Zealand becuase of the solfa over here. I have a cool house with a big big tree out the front and I have a tramp and a swing ball out the back of my house. I go to the beach every Sunday becuase I have to do Nippers at Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club. We do Flags and Sprints and Run Swim Run which is cool and nice and wet.I made a friend her name is Kylie she is a very nice girl to me and I like her as well as she likes me. Did you have a good Weekend becuase I did I went to the blue lake with my cousin Anna and my broher Hayden and my mum becuase it was 24 digreseon Saturday and Sunday was the same as Saturday. How meany people in your class have blonde hair.

  17. Hi Reagan.
It is Kyle - I am a boy. For the holidays I am having Christmas up at Auckland with my cousins. Auckland is our biggest city and there is lots of sailing there. Then we are going to my cousins farm. We will feed the calves, we will chase the cows and milk them. After that we will come back to Rotorua. We will then get our Christmas presents down here. Then we are going to our Grandma's at the beach. THen we will get some more presents. I will be doing lots of swimming, fishing and going on the boat. I will going on the ski biscuit. Last time we found a baby hammerhead shark with its head cut off. Kyle

  18. Hi everybody,
In Rotorua we don't live near a rainforest - there are no rainforests in New Zealand. 'The Bush' is a small area we have beside our school with lots of trees and tracks in it and a stream. Shortly all the Year 4 classes will be doing a camp cookout in there over open fires - cooking lots of yummy food. Room 10 can't wait! Ms Howie-Hale
