Animoto Slide Show Book Reports

Lights! Camera! Action! Your book reports can take on a whole new look with Animoto. Write your script. Choose your images (and videos, too). Choose or upload your music. And VoilĂ ! You have a presentation that you can put on a blog, wiki, youtube...whatever! This report on Nelson Mandela by Gordon Gray is a great example of animoto book reports - and I am going to post an animoto page on this blog to display the great work I know you will be coming up with. Calling Oscar...

More than 35,000 Entries and only 100 Winners - and 4-3 is one of them!!

Who cares! Classroom 4-3 , that's who! They are the winners of the ClassroomCares Program, run by Scholastic Books. 200 books are coming their way - and the students are ready to give 100 books to their community, and share the gift of reading!

Ms. Petrocelli's wonderful class read over 100 books, which is an accomplishment in and of itself, but even better, these students want to be able to provide books for other children in the community who don't have the same access to reading that we enjoy here in Jamestown.

They will be giving books to the
San Miguel Allende School and the Providence Center, schools that service children in need, and are in great need of books. It is a beautiful, charitable, and very welcome donation that these Jamestown students are making and we are VERY PROUD of you!

Look for further news and photos when the books arrive!

A Picture is worth a thousand words

We just loved your photos from school! You have the best gym ever and a waterfall, too! You are so lucky to be in such a beautiful place. Are you near the rain forest? What exactly is "the Bush?"

Joe took these pictures around our school and Jamestown to share with you, and I've made a slideshow of them. I forgot to take the cat picture out - that is Mrs. Casey's cat Merl, the Wonder Cat. Click here to see other pictures of Jamestown. We put some comments to help explain a little about our town and customs.

This link explains a little bit about Jamestown - 9 miles long, 1 mile wide, full of love!
Jamestowners: here is a link that will tell us about Rotorua. Maybe our friends in Room 10 can give us more connections so we can learn more about you!
